Every seed starts as a word, a thought, a story — and needs care to become something real.
My story
The Seed Atelier began with a simple belief — that art, taught well, is one of the most honest ways a person can come to know themselves. I trained as an artist in Korea and in New York, and along the way, home has meant a few different places — Seoul, California, Vermont, New York, Istanbul and so on. Each city taught me something different about how people make sense of the world through what they create, and I've carried a piece of each with me.
When I returned to Korea, I wanted to bring that same depth of attention into something built from the ground up — not a franchise curriculum, but a program shaped session by session, around how people actually think, feel, and grow, at any age.
I've watched this idea prove itself closest to home. My own daughter grew from a seed like this — a small thought, given room and care, allowed to take its own shape. Today, she runs The Mini Seed, her own crochet brand, opening her own market stalls and selling both finished pieces and the patterns behind them. Watching her build something of her own, and find her place in a community of makers, is the clearest proof I have that this way of growing works.

A seed needs training to grow
I believe everyone already carries seeds inside them — in the words they say, the stories they tell, the things they wonder about out loud. But a seed left only in the mind stays a seed. It takes practice to turn a thought into something made, something shown, something shared. That's what I want each class to be — not a class that teaches people what to make, but training in the harder, more valuable skill of bringing what's inside them out into the world.
At the same time, I don't believe that training should look the same for everyone. Each person carries a different seed — their own creativity, their own personality, their own taste. So the process stays open, never standardized, shaped around whoever is in front of me rather than a fixed formula.
Driven by curiosity
I'm not here to teach people what art should look like — I'm here to give them room to find out for themselves. Every session is a small world built together: a seed of an idea, a story, a character, a piece of work someone can call their own. I treat every person's imagination as something worth taking seriously, and every class as a small act of craft.
